This Year's Speaker: Bobby Sanders

Bobby Sanders is a speaker, student pastor and disciple maker that has been passionate about Jesus ever since junior high when his bus driver, Polly McDuffy, told him that God wanted to have a Real, Authentic, and Living relationship with him and that God can speak ,through His word, if we will quiet our hearts and listen. As a middle schooler Bobby went home, opened his bible, and prayed “God, My bus driver said you could talk, I want to hear whatever you have to say”. That small prayer has changed his life forever.

That same small  prayer about "hearing whatever God has to say" has led Bobby through many ventures in his faith. Since he was 18 years old, Bobby has been serving God and investing in students. He has served in areas of Student Ministry for over 24 years now, along the way he has served as a Nashville recording (hip hop) artist and speaker to teens. Most recently he established the youth and college ministry for Compassion International, one of the Nations largest Christian Non profits, where he had the chance to establish ministries that empower students to make a massive impact for children around the world.

Today Bobby is the  Missions and Student Pastor at TheRoad@Chapel Hills in Colorado Springs. After 24 years in ministry he still has a heart for speaking into the lives of students, just like his bus driver did for him.

Bobby has been married for 16 years. He has 3 children, two of them are middle schoolers and his youngest is 10. He loves Butterfingers, Christian rap music, and basketball. He has traveled the world, speaks fluent (sort of ) english and was once voted the chief of an african village for a day (it freaked him out; No seriously that happened!)

This Year's Theme: Own It!

Becoming Wholehearted Authentic Disciples of Christ.

This Year's Worship Band: Paramount Band

Paramount Revival Band has its roots and derives its name from the Paramount Square in downtown Anderson, IN. The band got its start when two friends began worshipping and teaching in the square with a motley group of believers on one Saturday afternoon. It was clear on that day that the Lord had called these friends to love and reach people through music. Since that day, our worship team has grown to include three more amazing musicians. The band is composed of Josh Paff, acoustic guitar and vocalist, Payton Lantz, vocalist, Logan Hauer, electric guitar, Evan Carr, bass guitar, and Justin Perry, drummer.

Paramount Revival Band is guided by the two core beliefs:

  1. Music is a bridge upwards and
  2. music is a bridge outwards.

What we mean is this, music is one of the ways in which we reach upwards and offer our praises and prayers to the Lord. Music is also a way in which we speak words of encouragement and power over believers and connect with those who do not yet known the Lord.
